A Jack of All Trades
The pedal was designed with flexibility and utility in mind. We wanted to make an dual overdrive and boost that could be a "one-stop shop".
Let's face it, today's modern player has more pedals that pedalboard space, so making a compact pedal that could do the job of several others was a top priority
The CROSS//DISSOLVE goes from light, thin overdrive to thick, gainy distortion and with the added boost, can do everything in between.
Strong Lineage
The CROSS//DISSOLVE comes from a rich family tree of drives, starting at the DOD 250, though it borrows some features from more modern "boutique" versions of this circuit, featuring greater tonal control and a revised LED hard clipping section.
What is the "DISSOLVE" knob?
The dissolve control is a unique "global" control that governs the gain range of the pedal, as well as the bass content.
At lower settings, the pedal will be a thinner, lower gain drive. At times, having an almost treble booster like sound.
At higher settings, much more gain and bass will be introduced into the pedal, becoming a thicker distortion style sound.
The tone, gain, and dissolve knob are an ecosystem, and each will become more or less "effective' depending on their relative positions
